Want to know more about Felipe? Here are some Q&A:
Why did you decide to become a specialist in Family Medicine?
I first became interested in becoming a physician when I was a sophomore in high school. I knew that I liked working with people and wanted to help. When it came down to select a specialty, Family Medicine was a natural choice. My philosophy is prevention, treatment when needed, and health promotion. It is a privilege to care for an entire family.
How did you escape poverty?
I didn’t. Poverty is all around us. One of the reasons I am running for Arizona Representative of District #11 is to advocate and empower people to succeed through great education, affordable college tuition, healthcare and so much more.
Okay, how did you become so successful?
I believe everyone has the potential to accomplish their dreams. It will take hard work, perseverance, and dedication. For me, the biggest factor that played a role in my success was accountability. I didn’t know what accountability meant when I was a kid, but I knew that if I wanted something I had to work for it. I also understood that one of the greatest gifts you can get in life is the one that you earned yourself.
Do you have a family?
Yes, I have a beautiful, loving and wonderful family. My wife’s name is Tammy and we have three amazing kids that are full of energy!
What’s the neatest thing that you have ever done?
That’s a tough question…… not really! I worked at NASA and saw the Endeavor Space Shuttle. I also worked on NASA’s manned mission to Mars. Unfortunately, the mission was cancelled a few years after due to the recession.
What do you do for fun?
I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. We have “get togethers” almost every weekend. And, I love to cook!
